Back in Black
By Lori Foster
Berkley
February 2010
Gillian Noode is hired by the owners of the Supreme Battle Challenge fight organization to be the image coach for their ultra-successful manager, Drew Black. Though he’s a phenomenally shrewd businessman, they fear his often crude, unbridled mouth is bad for business. When Gillian introduces herself to Drew at his favorite watering hole, he’s none too happy to learn about the arrangement, and does his best to scare Gillian off. But she didn’t become the best in the business, with a hefty salary to match, by being timid. Equal to the challenge, Drew sweetens the deal to his liking, and their relationship soon grows into something more than strictly business.
Just as they begin to make progress with Drew’s makeover, the trouble starts. Not everyone approves of the type of fighting sanctioned by the SBC. In fact a group of protesters has been very vocal about banning the sport. But when things suddenly escalate to dangerous levels, and Drew and Gillian find themselves stalked by an elusive assailant, the gloves come off.
Foster’s blend of sexy humor and gritty suspense make this one nearly impossible to put down. Each chapter propels the reader to ever increasing heights of anticipation. Relationships heat up, tempers flare and loyalties are questioned in this no-holds-barred, cage match of romantic suspense. Ohh yeah!
