Product Description:
My darling Michael, I know this letter will come as a shock to you….On the anniversary of his beloved wife's death, Dr. Michael Everett receives a letter Hannah had written him. In it she reminds him of her love and makes one final request. An impossible request—I want you to marry again. She tells him he shouldn't spend the years he has left grieving her. And to that end she's chosen three women she asks him to consider. First on Hannah's list is her cousin, Winter Adams, a trained chef who owns a café on Seattle's Blossom Street. The second is Leanne Lancaster, Hannah's oncology nurse. Michael knows them both. But the third name is one he's not familiar with—Macy Roth. Each of these three women has her own heartache, her own private grief. More than a year earlier, Winter broke off her relationship with another chef. Leanne is divorced from a man who defrauded the hospital for which she works. And Macy lacks family of her own, the family she craves, but she's a rescuer of strays, human and animal. Macy is energetic, artistic, eccentric—and couldn't be more different from Michael. During the months that follow, he spends time with Winter, Leanne and Macy, learning more about each of them…and about himself. Learning what Hannah already knew. He's a man who needs the completeness only love can offer. And Hannah's list leads him to the woman who can help him find it.

Pediatrician Dr. Michael Everett lost his beloved wife Hanna to ovarian cancer one year ago. By the time this silent killer was diagnosed, it was already in stage four and nothing could be done to save Hannah. The Everett’s had a good, solid and loving marriage for over a decade, and Michael is still grieving over his loss. Hannah’s brother, Ritchie, is Michael’s best friend, and on the one-year anniversary of his sister’s death Ritchie asks Michael to a Seattle Mariner’s game and then dinner afterward. They share memories of past good times, then Ritchie ends the evening by giving Michael a letter written by Hannah before her death. The letter admonishes Michael for not living life to the fullest, and urges him to find a new love. Hannah goes so far as to make a list of three candidates she wants her husband to consider
The first name on Hannah’s list is her cousin, Winter Adams, who owns a French restaurant on Blossom Street. Number two is the oncology nurse who was so good to Hannah, Leanne Lancaster and number three is a woman Michael has never heard of, Macy Roth, a woman Hannah worked with at the department store. Macy is an artist and part-time model. Michael meets all of the women, but sees that two of them are still hung up on their exes, and the other one is a real ding-dong. What in the world was Hannah thinking of with this list? However, Michael is getting back to living with his dates/interviews, and fate really does have a fickle finger.
If you love romance, and who doesn’t, HANNAH’S LIST will put a smile on your face, a lump in your throat, and happiness in your heart. Hannah gave Michael the greatest gift of all in wanting him to be happy, but it takes him some time to recognize this. Debbie Macomber’s entrancing characters, perfect pacing, strong dialogue and equally powerful, and touching, story threads combine to make HANNAH’S LIST an exceptional and wonderful way to give yourself a guilty pleasure this spring.

Simple, uncomplicated, and lovely: (2010-09-06)
Debbie Macomber is one of those authors I can rely on when I'm craving a nice story with a happy ending. I love her Blossom Street and Cedar Cover series, as well as her stand-alone books. In fact, I've never read a Debbie Macomber book that I didn't enjoy! This story reminded me a little of P.S. I Love You by Cecelia Ahern, in that a dying spouse wrote letters to be delivered after their death. While Ahern's hero wrote monthly letters to his wife and Hannah only wrote one, they both wanted their beloved spouse to get on with their lives and find happiness and love again. That's incredibly loving and unselfish, and both stories brought tears to my eyes. Hannah's letter urges her husband to find love again, and marry & start the family they always dreamed of. Hannah goes so far as to suggest three possible matches for her husband, which he finds a little overwhelming. But he does meet the three women in order to fulfill Hannah's last request. I liked all three women, and while I was a little surprised at the ending, it did make sense. I gave this book a 4/5 rating as I really enjoyed it! Debbie is very talented, and I love her stories! Some of the characters from her Blossom Street series make cameos, and it's nice to get brief glimpses of other characters we've come to know and love. If you enjoy simple, uncomplicated, light romances, then this book is for you! While it is sad in parts, it's joyful as well. These characters seem like real people and their life isn't always smooth, but they persevere. It's a fast, enjoyable read with a lovely ending.
I ordered the book "Hannah's List" but got a knitting book.: (2010-09-01)
I thought I ordered a novel by the same name, but got a knitting book instead. I was going to return the knitting directions to the seller but I just gave it away as the return directions were too bothersome. The novel, Hannah's Choice, was poorly written and very predictable. Not worth your time if you are over 13 years of age
My least favorite of the Blossom Street series: (2010-09-01)
I was disappointed. This was interesting, but certainly not Debbie Macomber's best. Enjoyed the characters and their stories but it was a quick read and by the time all the characters are introduced, you can predict the story line. I also find it difficult to consider it part of the Blossom Street series (which I love) because you have very little mention of Blossom Street or interaction with its inhabitants. The print font was large, which while making it easy to read, certainly contained less writing than the usual hardcover. All in all, a good story but one to wait for in paperback.
boring and unimaginative: (2010-08-28)
the first book by debbie mccomber that i have ever read and it may actually be the last . i found the story to be very predictable, found the characters to be extremely underdeveloped and found the writing to be amateurish. i would liken this book to a harlequin romance. it is unfortunate that the author tried to write this as the male character. this made the book all the more unbelievable and ridiculous.
