Product Description:

Trenton, New Jersey, bounty hunter Stephanie Plum has inherited a “lucky” bottle from her Uncle Pip. Problem is, Uncle Pip didn’t specify if the bottle brought good luck or bad luck. . . .

BAD LUCK:

Vinnie, of Vincent Plum Bail Bonds, has run up a gambling debt of $786,000 with mobster Bobby Sunflower and is being held until the cash can be produced. Nobody else will pay to get Vinnie back, leaving it up to Stephanie, office manager Connie, and file clerk Lula to raise the money if they want to save their jobs.

GOOD LUCK:

Being in the business of tracking down people, Stephanie, Lula, and Connie have an advantage in finding Vinnie. If they can rescue him, it will buy them some time to raise the cash.

BAD LUCK:

Finding a safe place to hide Vinnie turns out to be harder than raising $786,000. Vinnie’s messing up Mooner’s vibe, running up pay-per-view porn charges in Ranger’s apartment, and making Stephanie question genetics.

GOOD LUCK:

Between a bonds office yard sale that has the entire Burg turning out, Mooner’s Hobbit-Con charity event, and Uncle Pip’s lucky bottle, they just might raise enough money to save the business, and Vinnie, from ruin.

BAD LUCK:

Saving Vincent Plum Bail Bonds means Stephanie can keep being a bounty hunter. In Trenton, this involves hunting down a man wanted for polygamy, a turnpike toilet paper bandit, and a drug dealer with a pet alligator named Mr. Jingles.

GOOD LUCK:

The job of bounty hunter comes with perks in the guise of Trenton’s hottest cop, Joe Morelli, and the dark and dangerous security expert, Ranger. With any luck at all, Uncle Pip’s lucky bottle will have Stephanie getting lucky---the only question is . . . with whom?

Sizzling Sixteen . . . so hot, the pages might spontaneously combust!

More Of The Same: (2010-09-06)
It was typical of her books in this series but I did enjoy it like all the others.

not quite up to par: (2010-09-06)
While I enjoyed reading the latest expolits of Stephanie and Lula, I felt that it was not quite on a par with her earlier works. The ending was strange, almost as if she just decided she was tired of writing the story and just stopped! Usually, Janet ends her books in such a way that makes you look forward to her next offering. Maybe she has too many series going at the same time.

Reading Angel: (2010-09-06)
How I've missed the crazy antics of Stephanie, Lula, and Grandma. Those three (mostly Lulu and Grandma) leave me in stitches every time they grace the pages. This was another fun addition to this series, even if it wasn't the best one. Lots of laughs from beginning to end.

We actually get to see a bit more of Connie and Vinnie in this book. Connie normally only gets short cameos in the bail bonds office, but she goes out with Steph and Lula to help rescue Vinnie, and she was a fun addition to the team! Mooner and a bunch of hobbits get to join in on this one and had me cracking up as well.

There was the typical love triangle with Steph, Morelli and Ranger. Once again it's left open with both men hanging in the wind. While I sometimes think I want her to just pick one already, I realize that if the sexual tension was out of either side I would miss the other guy way too much!!!

Overall, this was a fun addition and I sure hope the bail bond agency gets to open back up! What good is the Stephenie Plum series without her chasing down bad guys and getting hers (and Rangers) vehicles blown to smithereens and smashed like pancakes?!?!

Not Her Best Work..: (2010-09-05)
I look forward to Ms. Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series, but I have to say I was disappointed by Sizzling Sixteen. The book felt like it was recycled from older numbered stories and wasn't nearly as funny.

Consistent and predictible: (2010-09-03)
In Sizzling Sixteen, Evanovich gives us another fun and slightly naughty Stephanie Plum adventure. The adventure is pure Plum - with all the main characters helping her to bungle through her job tracking down criminals who jumped bond as well as a new adventure. I was disappointed that two of the storylines I like best in this series are barely addressed: 1) Her romantic dilemma is addressed but not focussed on as she seems to be taking a vacation from both of her men in this book 2) Her wacky family and grandmother - only one small scene with them. The main story line is the trouble her boss gets into and how the office girls need to raise a lot of money to "bail" him out. Unrealistic, stupid and somehow still enjoyable.
